Group Learning Environment - What do our meet-ups look like?

Our cooperative learning group is set up with 4 basic groups - Mighty Minnows (age 4 to 6), Famous Flounders (age 7 to 9), Tenacious Tarpons (age 10 to 12), and Salty Snooks (13+).
We do allow for some leeway for where each child is placed in which group. This means if you have a child that would do better in a younger group or an older group, we are open to discussing it! The only group we are implementing an age requirement is our Salty Snooks children should be 13 or turning 13 during the current co-op year (child must not be younger than 12). Homeschool teens often struggle to find friendships or activities that are just for them, if you are a parent of a homeschool teen OR are in the homeschool teen groups of Facebook you probably see the frequent posts about this common problem. So, we are working to fill that need in our area by providing classes that are TEEN only spaces.
Each Tuesday for 10-weeks children will engage in 2 classes, an AM and PM class that each last 1 hour with a 1-hour lunch in between. Each age group has 2 classes per group for each of the Fall and Spring sessions run by volunteer parent facilitators. The classes vary each session and do not always have the same parent facilitator. The different projects for each class are centered around history, science, and life skills. We do NOT offer basic classes such as grade level math or language arts. however, some of our classes may have a math or language arts element to them.
